Located in the picturesque hills on a spur of the little Liverpool range, the railway represents a bygone era of travel.
Our 1930’s railmotors slowly wind their way up and down the hill every hour between Cabanda (bottom of the hill) and Kunkala (top of the hill), taking a leisurely 10-15 minutes to complete a few kilometers.
Along the way you are presented with spectacular views to the border ranges framed by sweeping open plains of farmland, transforming your experience to one of over 50 years ago.
At Kunkala we have some basic refreshments, and some relics on display. You’re welcome to wander the yards and examine these for yourself, but please be careful, as some items are in disrepair. Please be mindful of train operations, only cross where designated and keep inside any fences or barriers of any kind.
Our friendly staff will be more than happy to answer any questions or assist in any way they can. We want you to have a great day out with the full experience of old-time service.
Our steam and diesel locomotives are due to return during the 2017/2018 period, stay tuned!
